Dazzling Gem looks to dazzle in the Preakness!

"The Preakness is possible and so is the Peter Pan, but right now I am leaning more toward Pimlico than Belmont," trainer Brad Cox said.
The Peter Pan (gr. II), a one-turn-mile stakes for 3-year-olds at Belmont Park, will be run May 14.
Fellowship finished fourth in the Pat Day Mile (gr. III) at Churchill Downs May 7. Unraced as a 2-year-old, Dazzling Gem has made four starts at 3 but will have had five weeks rest heading into the Preakness since his fourth-place finish in the Arkansas Derby (G1) April 16.
The bay son of Misremembered opened his career with a pair of wins over the winter at Oaklawn Park, breaking his maiden Jan. 18 by a length going one mile and returning to beat winners Feb. 13 by two lengths at 1 1/16 miles.
Dazzling Gem stretched out again for the 1 1/8-mile Louisiana Derby March 26 at Fair Grounds, racing on the outside near the lead around both turns before encountering traffic at the quarter pole and finishing third behind Gun Runner, who went on to run third in the Kentucky Derby (G1) May 7.
Back at Oaklawn for the Arkansas Derby, Dazzling Gem found himself in mid-pack through the first half of the race, made a move to get within a head of the lead at the five-sixteenths pole, but wound up fourth behind Creator, Suddenbreakingnews and Whitmore, all of whom went on to Kentucky.
